Why this is huge for Hive, and why we love it!
Hive already aims for what the world needs from Web3 social, fast confirmation, human-readable account names, and zero-fee transfers. Zypto now layers on top of that a non-custodial, multichain wallet, plus payments tools, that link Hive to real world spending and even multichain trading. Keep your keys, move value across chains, top up a card, pay a bill, or send a mobile top up to a friend, all from one app. Zypto also features fiat on and off ramps through integrated partners (availability varies depending on region), adding an additional option to move value between crypto and traditional money straightforward. An upgraded gift card store is coming very soon, so HIVE and HBD will reach even more everyday places for more everyday folks.
What Hive users can do today in Zypto
- Hold HIVE and HBD in a decentralized wallet you control, then swap to and from other chains when needed.
- Move between crypto and fiat using integrated partners, useful for payouts, expenses, and real life purchases.
- Use Cards and Payments for virtual cards, bill pay, and mobile top ups where available, now with HIVE and HBD supported.

Quick start, adding Hive in Zypto
- Open the Zypto App and go to your DeFi wallet. Create one if you are new, or import your existing wallet.
- From the wallet screen, tap to view your blockchain addresses. You will see Hive in the list, but no user yet.
- Tap Hive, then choose to create a new Hive account or import an existing one.
- If you import an existing Hive account, it links to this DeFi wallet in the UI for convenience. If you change device or reinstall later, you will need to re-import both the DeFi wallet and the Hive account.
- If you create a new Hive account from your DeFi wallet seed, it permanently links to that seed. In the future you can import both the multichain wallet and the Hive account together with a single seed.
- Choose how to fund account creation. Multiple options are available, including paying the creation fee with another cryptocurrency. For example, you can create a Hive account using SOL if you hold Solana.
Using payments with HIVE and HBD
Hive is now accepted for all Zypto payment products. Here's an example of how to apply for and top up a virtual VISA card:
- Open the Cards and Payments tab at the bottom of the app.
- Apply for a virtual card, complete KYC, then wait for issuing bank approval, this is normally a matter of minutes.
- Once approved, tap Top Up. Choose HIVE or HBD, select the amount, pick the account to use, then confirm. In moments, your card balance updates and is ready for online or in-store use where supported.
- In the same tab you can also pay bills and send mobile top ups where available, now with HIVE and HBD accepted.
Extra reasons to get excited
- Multichain swaps to and from Hive let you route value to/from other networks whenever you want, without leaving self-custody.
- On and off ramps help creators convert payouts, settle expenses, or cash in and out when needed.

This is so insightful,I just linked my Hive wallet to my Zypto account.I was able to do this by using my Master key after locating the hive icon on the zypto network and I was able to import.

Thank you, and as you correctly point out, this IS huge for Hive. Whether the short-sighted witnesses and supporters of the DHF understand this is another thing.
I for one, will be signing up and getting a card and will be spending HBD in almost any shop in the world, unlike some users of a very expensive to develop Hive product who are only able to spend HBD in half a dozen shops in Nigeria and Venezuela.
I really hope you get some mass support from the users here.

I gotta be brutally honest, this isn’t a hive project, it’s a for profit company that charges fees and is adding Hive/HBD to its list of options. This is not a hive centered project that should get our funds. With all respect I don’t think this is a project that the DHF should be funding. We need to reduce the DHF funding anywhere possible with where Hive is, .19 cents and 30% below our 2022 bear market low of .2555 when ETH was 1K & Bitcoin 15K. Now most crypto’s though below 2021 ATH’s, are up 500% on average up from 2022 lows while Hive is in a bear market during the crypto bull. We should be reducing as much as we can. The more HBD printed , the more gets sold and puts pressure on Hive via stabilizer. We need to be or at least should be reducing funding anywhere we can. I don’t see any demand for spending HBD in most places. We are like the only chain where we can transfer value for free from account to account in 3 seconds. Using a service that only works using the old system model doesn’t make sense to me. We are one of the few decentralized chains. We have bled users and are not growing. At this point we should be reducing DHF funding not funding things with little demand especially when it’s not a project with a track record longer than 90 days.
One of the things we love about Hive is the fact that there's an active, engaged community sharing opinions... and that includes us from now!
On account of the realities of the world we live in, for-profit companies are often necessary to drive things forwards. Our mission is to serve as a bridge between the old and the new, the centralised and the decentralised.
The grant helped to get Hive into the integration queue ahead of the many other chains that would like to be added, but for the record, we have already spent more on development than the amount received. We won't get into the volume of Hive and HBD payments that would be necessary to generate enough in fees to cover the rest + ongoing support and improvements, but it would need to be a lot!
We look forward to continuing this journey we have embarked upon together and hope you will see the value we bring to the ecosystem over time.

Apart from the various options already available in the app, we're constantly working to expand the adoption of blockchain payments around the globe. For example, along with Hive in v1.21, we also launched an integration that allows people to pay with USDC on Stellar literally everywhere in Brazil and Colombia. We hope to extend this service to cover both more regions and also using a much greater variety of assets.
The road to mass adoption includes a hybrid phase, which we are only just properly entering.

How can I use this NON KYC? Otherwise I might just use binance and withdraw to bank account if I gotta give my kyc...
If you prefer not to do a formal KYC, you can use the non-reloadable cards, top up a cell phone, swap to or from $HIVE with the non-custodial multichain swap that's built into the app, use the upcoming gift card store... or you can use Binance if you prefer! 😂

Tried importing a newly created account @walterjay.card(which I had to create myself onchain because I tried with the QR code inside the app but the data can't be read and the other option is paying $1.99 for zypto to create it) but got invalid master password format error with not much option to go on.
Any idea what I can do?

I'll at least give this a go depending on the availability here in the UK. On/off ramps have been a bit of a pain here in the UK recently.
