Hello Steemians!
This week for the zen colouring contest, I took a bit of a unique approach to this stencil. When I looked at the stencil, I actually did a version of this and then decided I didn't think it was zen enough for the contest. I actually used my first version to go along with a story I wrote for a different contest.
Well, this is my coloured-in picture!
Looking at the image, I think the stencil looks very technological. Which because the contest is "zen" it threw me for a loop. So, I decided to go for a look that merges nature with technology.
The first thing I did was color in the stencil:
Next, I added Matrix numbers behind it to give it a technological feel (this is the one I used for my story):
When I looked at this version, I really liked it, but I didn't think it was very zen. To make it appear zen, I opened it in a paint program and drew vines and flowers in it. I also altered the colors a bit and added a few effects, to give it a "glowing" appearance.
Again, this is the completed version:
This was the stencil @magiccleatus provided:
What do you think, steemians? I would love to hear your opinions in the comments!
If I were to pick the featured color for next week's contest, I would pick a berry color!

I love the luminescent colours you went with for the pattern in the end! It reminds me of the illuminations at seaside towns.
Thank you for your entry!
Thank you :D
That's an interesting way to look at it, I hadn't thought of that! I enjoy hearing your perspective on it!
It really does remind me of going to Blackpool, UK, as a child, to see the illuminations!
Also, How do you get emojis in the title? I tried it once and it didn't work :(
That's neat!
As for the emojis, I'm on windows so if I push the Windows button + period it opens my emoji keyboard, and I just clicked on the emojis I wanted when I typed in the title. I believe it's CMND + period on mac, but I could be wrong about that. I'm really not sure lol I've seen other people do it so I decided to try it!
Actually, I think it also might depend on the emoji. I have tried to put some in posts before that didn't show up. I think some are "universal" across all devices and some aren't.
ENTRY ACCEPTED!!
Thank you for naming the colour you'd pick for next week's featured colour!
Honourable Mention, Well done!!
Great Entry! Thank you for participating!
Thanks! That's awesome! :D
