Hello Steemit Community,
I've just joined, and this is my first post. So I was thinking about what will I write about, and the logical conclusion was to write about what I'm passionate about - 3d Art.
So, during the holidays I had some free time, so I made this quick sculpt:
The theme was water and movement. I tried to invoke the feeling of movement in the viewers eyes by using diagonal shapes, direcional lines and curves. I wanted the viewer to look at the piece and feel like its going to start spinning, like a carousel. I added some mechanical pieces for that exact purpose.
Composition wise, I tried to create a sense of movement from bottom to the top, by making the lines on the bottom very diagonal, almost 45 degrees, and slowly, with each layer, turning them up to be vertical. This way the viewers eye would engage at the bottom, and following the lines, initially very fast and then slower and steadier, get to the top of the fountain. And if the fountain was actually working, the water would drive the viewers eyes back down, creating a pleasant composition.
Well, hope you liked it, this is a first post, so I'm still getting hang of it. But be sure to follow if you're interested in this kind of talk.
Cheers
