Trying it out for the first time, I only had one expectation, that it would taste authentically from Sichuan, and that much it does. The Beef brisket noodle soup is excellent and has the instantly recognisable chilli oil soup with peppercorns that number the mouth to no end. It is a perfect blend of spice and numbness that only Sichuan people could really afford.
Ask the waiter whether the chilliness can be reduced? A straight up no. They aren't interested in making western adjusted dishes for the uninitiated.
