My favourite Anime is Mirai Nikki, or 'Future Diary' in english. The premise is a lot like Hunger games, a group of 'chosen' individuals must fight to become lord of time. They each have the use of a 'future diary' to aid them in their journey. The deuteragonist of the story is actually my favourite character, Yuno Gasai. Many people probably know her from the famous 'Yandere Look' which is actually in the first episode of the anime.
Given that it's my favourite anime though, I figured I should actually draw the scene from it with my own character, especially since everyone else seems too;
I aptly named the piece' Misery', after the Stephen King book which also has a yandere character (Just like Yuno Gasai). But the piece alone looked so dull without a background, but I also didn't want a background that drew too much attention away from the main part of the picture. I settled for a simple background and took inspiration from both the room Yuno's in during that scene;
And Pitch's lair from Rise of the Guardians, specifically, the cages;
I'm really happy with the finished result though, it fits in with her theme of shadows and darkness, and works off her eyes and skin colour. It blends well with the picture while still putting something in the background to look at.
