Jack Frost (ROTG), while one of my favourite characters, has always been ridiculously hard for me to draw. But with the new year, I desperately wanted to finish a lot of sketches of Jack I'd abandoned, including one based off a roleplay I had with a friend. (Modern/human) Jack had always dreamed of saving up enough money to leave town and have a steady job as a tattoo artist. That or just... running away from the city and being his own guy.
I'm happy to say though, I feel I really captured it in the image once I finally completed it!
I wanted to put actual detail in it, while making it seem like Jack was in the middle of nowhere by having the horizon free of buildings and filled with bright stars, unfiltered by city lights. Far from the city and content. I wanted to make the sky match the theme of blue that Jack uses a lot, and had the building he was leaning against covered in moss to show how old it was.
