Yoga Ghar is where yoga lives and where we live yoga. It’s a place to kick off your shoes and your stress. A retreat for the everyday where you can return home to your true, best Self.
“Ghar” is the Hindi word for “home”. And that’s how we want you to feel as soon as you arrive here – right at home.
No pretensions, no expectations, no judgements. Feel free to enjoy the yoga practice as you like – come for a sweat, come for peace of mind or come to be enlightened. It’s all here for you.
Tamara has been practicing yoga for over 20 years, teaching for 15, and teacher-training for 5. She holds the highest credentials available through Yoga Alliance, including Experienced Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 500), Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher (RPYT) and Registered Children's Yoga Teacher (RCYT).
She is also the Lead Teacher Trainer at Yoga Ghar's own Registered Yoga School and a Lead Hatha Yoga Teacher Trainer within the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Organization – world-renowned as an authority for teaching yoga authentically – and the same school with which she completed her initial and advanced Yoga Teacher Training.
Tamara's ties to yoga and India run deep – from taking her advanced Yoga Acharya certification in the Himalayas, to conducting teacher training courses in the Himalayas and South India, to finding her husband Rahul in Delhi, on the way to a yoga ashram!
Now as a busy Mom, yoga keeps Tamara grounded. She continues with regular practice and study as well as advanced training in India and Canada via the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Organization, The Oxford School for Hindu Studies, Young Yoga Masters and other schools of yoga.
Before yoga made itself clear as Tamara's true calling, she spent many years as a certified Stott Pilates Teacher, YWCA Group Fitness Trainer, Kids' Gymnastics and Trampoline Coach as well as a National Sports Aerobics coach.
