Is it easy for you to say yes as well as no to your boss or loving ones? Try recalling the last time you said no to your loving ones or boss and how was their reaction. Maybe you don’t remember or may be such situation never happened. You were the yes person all the time.
Are yes and no equally important?
Richard Branson, British business magnate, has famously said 'If somebody offers you an amazing opportunity but you are not sure you can do it, say yes – then learn how to do it later!'
On the other hand Warren Buffett, the Oracle of Omaha has said,“Really Successful People Say No to Almost Everything”
The above 2 quotes are by ultra-successful people on the earth. Both the statement may seem poles apart, but they aren’t. It’s about one’s focus and determination. If your career goal and dreams align with the opportunity obviously the answer is yes, if it doesn’t the response is no. In my opinion saying is no is more important as it is hard to do. For instance, one of my close friends couldn’t say no to a date, though she didn’t want to go. If you feel saying no is easy, count how many times you say no and yes in a day.
As humans leaving things is not easy for us. Moreover, we don’t want to hurt our loving ones or friends. I used to be rude in saying no and mostly blunt response. Cheers to my friends who had borne me in that period. Recently, I start practicing saying no politely. It’s like yes to the person but no to the task so that the bond is maintained and is stronger.
To sum up, yes is equally important as no. We already the know the importance of yes in next write up I will be covering the importance of no.
Stay Tuned :)
Happy Weekend!
