The big question about all of the lichens and fungi in the world is if they are native or invasive?
Usually the native plants have a symbiotic relation with native fungii. Invasive species, however, can wreak havoc. Notably and invasive blight from from Asia wiped out the American chestnut trees.
There is an invasive yellow moss that people imported for crafts. It's been know to wreak havoc on native ecosystems.
