The red brand has been on a bumpy road as of late after viewership soared to a four-year high for the special 25th anniversary episode, then fell for two straight weeks before hitting it big with this week's gauntlet match. The good news, however, is that WWE's programming tends to be at its best on the road as we approach WrestleMania each year, and once Elimination Chamber is in the books, we should have a much clearer indication of what major matches will take place on the grandest stage of them all.
WWE is reportedly set to hold two dream matches at WrestleMania 34 while big things could also be in store for The Miz and Braun Strowman, among others, meaning that Elimination Chamber must deliver the goods this Sunday. That pay-per-view will also feature the first-ever women's Elimination Chamber match, which could set the stage for WWE's women's division to take on an even bigger role going forward.
In other words, Elimination Chamber will have long-term ramifications on the WWE product that will dictate what we see over the course of the next few months. With interest in Raw plateauing as of late, it's time for WWE to move forward with its WrestleMania plans and start increasing the excitement, the interest and the intrigue. That means that the creative team must hit an absolute home run at Elimination Chamber.
