Has anyone thought about this?
Lets say a war breaks out between the US and Russia and/or China, i would imagine that communications will be something that will be affected, the internet in particular.
If trans-ocean cables are damaged or shut down and satellite communications disrupted, how will blockchains be able to sync?
This demands a stable internet globally.
We may be able to use radio links over shortwave radio etc and possibly ham sats, but i think that alternative options need to be explored for the long term stability of blockchain currency.
Any ideas, please share in the comments!
I'd say that if WW3 happens, we'll be more concerned with access to water and food which is not radiated.
I agree, but what will be used to buy it? paper fiat?
Likely barter or theft/mugging.
I'm basically presuming that if WW3 occurs we'll be living in Fallout4.
WW3 could bring the end to humanity. The last of my concerns will be crypto, instead it will be where can I find shelter, food, water and bullets.
Yes, very true. If ww3 happens, most of the global markets would crash, i feel that crypto could become a valuable commodity. So your paper fiat will probably be worthless when it comes to buying food, water and bullets. Im hoping that crypto will be worth alot before such an event breaks out, so that the smart ones will be able to prepare themselves better for the worst.
This is very likely scenario especially if Russia or China will use the tsunami torpedo on the US, the internet cables would be destroyed.
