Our mountain biking, considered a risk sport, is a competition cycling performed on the natural circuits. Usually through forests by narrow roads with steep slopes and very rapid descents.
From the twentieth century the disc brakes began to be used, which are formed by a disk of reduced diameter fixed to the axis of the wheel that is equally driven by cranks and cables of steel or later with hydraulic systems. Disc brakes are much safer but not lighter.

I'm a keen downhill and gravity enduro mountain biker and you can't feel the extra weight of the discs...in fact the bigger they are the better for stopping power. I own a pair of SRAM 200mm disc rotors and a pair of Hope 200mm rotors. Very good indeed! I ride all ove the UK and have rode abroad a few times including Italy and Portgual. Thanks!
