The Philosophy of Dying

Take a moment to think. Try to conceptualize the idea of infinity. You can’t and you’ve been told time and time again that you can’t. Infinity makes up the basis of life. Think about the possibilities from 0 to 1, they’re endless. The amounts of atoms that make up your being are endless. Space is endless, even if you believe in a final point, what’s beyond that point? Is it blank? If so, that blank is endless. These are the thoughts that come to haunt my mind. With these thoughts lingers death, ever present in all creation. Some go to God to alleviate the presence that death holds in our mind, but how can one be comforted by that when that “Heaven” also meets no end.
The vastness of the universe is something many people have said not to worry yourself over, that it’s not worth it. I understand thinking about it won’t help me come to an understanding, but maybe it can make it more bearable. When death comes to mind many people think of “Heaven”, reincarnation, or nothing. Everyone has an interpretation of what comes after, no one is right and no one can be right. Any thought that comes to mind either has to do with an endless life of peace, a new life with no recollection of the last, or eternal darkness. The first situation, oddly enough, strikes me with fear. Yes, everyone I love and ever have loved will be in one place forever, but what hardship will befall us to make us better? Everyone describes Heaven as a place with no struggle. This is why reincarnation seems like a better alternative. We live on in different skins, growing and changing to become better through the knowledge obtained by our ancient souls.
As humans, our memories are so precious to us. At the end of our lives most of us will have accumulated too many photos to ever go back and look upon. We use them as some sort of grasp at immortality, but when you die you’ll never see them again. Even if you return back to earth, you will have no recollection of anything before. It’s as if every move we make is driven by death. Escaping it or embracing it.

These are the thoughts that plague my mind, thanks for taking the time to read them.

The way you approach to death only matters in how it affects your living. In the end it doesn't really matter.

Legit... that kept me awake for years, literally. The whole "space is constantly expanding... but where is it expanding to"? Lol our similarities in thought are eerily similar.

We are just "woke" people.
I'll try to listen to Neil deGrasse Tyson explain the universe to me but it makes it worse haha.

I have pondered the same as of late.

I just want to find a way to stop thinking about it haha
