Why celebrate valentine's day?

I've come across some individuals who claim they don't celebrate Valentine's day. Some are Moslems and claim the celebration is Christian and they can't take part in a Christian celebration-Really? Well I believe it's for all and not shunned as a Christian stuff, must we actually or necessarily attach religion to everything we do in life.

THE LEGEND OF ST VALENTINE
There is a popular hagiographical account of St. Valentine of Rome. The Catholic Church recognizes three different saints named Valentine or Valentinus, all of whom are martyred. The account contends that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men. Valentine, realizing the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine’s actions were discovered, Claudius ordered that he be put to death.According to legend , during his imprisonment, Saint Valentine healed the daughter of his jailer, Asterius who visited him during his confinement, and before his execution, he wrote her a letter signed "Your Valentine" as a farewell." - history.com

Although we can clearly see from the above it originated from the Catholic Church because they had priests at that time. Let me put it to you- Catholic/ Christian whatever, its the actual thought that counts. I know most of the things we do nowadays came from the Catholic Church; Like yeah...you didn't know? The most common one- Christmas day! It came from a joint idea of celebrating Christ and the good he brought to the world ( less I digress).

Valentine's day is not a public holiday in any country. Yes! It's a world affair and everyone acknowledges that day to just show love and the goodness of the heart.

Why attach all importance to a particular day when you can do it everyday? Individuals get busy every now and then, even teens with school stuff and earning something so there isn't any free time to share and spread love. For couples, every moment is special… the air springs love and you take her to that nice dinner with a beautiful red/white rose and your smile to warm the heart- On this day, actions matter and far better than words ( that don't even hold enough ammo).

This applies to all:

All I'm just trying to say is don't attach religion to this special day, feel the love, spread the love, make your partner feel special and crown it with an " I LOVE YOU" ( trust me it goes beyond the heart)
