INCLUSION RIDER: Is it just Affirmative Action?

in #writing7 years ago

After Frances McDormand’s Oscar speech where she encouraged that all actors insist on and “Inclusion Rider,” most people had to go and look up what that was. It was then the most searched term of the night on Google. What it amounts to is that film crews must have a certain number of minorities or under-represented people hired on the crew. But it does sound a bit like Affirmative Action, which in all the years of it’s implementation, was extremely controversial. And did it even work?

What do you think? Affirmative Action in this new form a good idea? Was it ever? How do you implement effectively?

No it is not Affirmative action but why she done like that @writesbackwards

nope don't want it.........

It is like affirmative action, but unlike the laws created by the Americans, this is the the people involved in the productions themselves driving the issue. That is a much better way to handle inclusion, but it can still have negative affects on production values, as companies pass over people with higher skill levels in their fields to meet the requirements of the inclusion riders.

a good idea

not very good but i can be if applies all action that wanted to ...it will be prometed and it is better to do so..
