RE: 10SBD PRIZE POOL - MUSIC LYRICS WRITING CONTEST - A DSOUND COMMUNITY INITIATIVE

in #writing7 years ago

Verse 1
I was walking down Daddy savage road yesterday
I saw a man on one leg, limping happily
My heart sank when I remembered all I had done was complain all day
With two feet, two hands and a job that paid handsomely

Chorus
Gratitude, the ultimate attitude I need to cultivate
Lord help me thank you for all I've got,
I don't want to be an ingrate
Let me be thankful for provisions even when they come late
Lord help me be grateful lest my insatiable desires turn me to someone I know not.

Verse 2
I stood, staring at the one-legged man limping into the distance now whistling
And I smiled as tears ran down my cheeks
My heart resolved to be thankful for life, family, love and every other thing.
Now I would be grateful for everything, even the air I breathe
