Rainy Winter

Dallas is a city that's meant to be underwater.

It's one of those cities that's expanding and going and growing, but that you still see the shapes of the older town it used to be underneath it. Stone buildings that benefit from a hard shower, rain drenching and falling off sheet metal roofs and cracked red brick houses before kissing the earth again. Streetlamp light blankets it, luminescence expanded and multiplied, street lightning.

It's a town of old earth versus new steel, old and wet versus inviting hot and dry. Either venue could do with more rain, slick streets with cars slowing down, a midday shower enough to hamper courage. Watch vehicles go by like traveling Christmas light sets.

Sometimes you see a fire truck go by in the rain, speeding off, sirens blaring. You can't help but pity the bad luck that has to be.

Keep it up bud! On a slightly related note, it sure was a wet one today...
