Writers Block? 20 Cool Ideas for Your Next Steemit Post

in #writing8 years ago (edited)

It’s not always easy to find new stuff to write about. I brainstormed on some post ideas and I came up with 20. Feel free to use as many as you'd like.

Pick one Steemit member that you like or admire, tell the community about him/her. Fill us in on why you follow this person and what stands out about him/her.

I challenge you to finish this sentence in a headline: “My Biggest Regret in Life Is ___________”

Create a monthly or weekly event on your Steemit account. “Steve’s Weekly Top 15 Spoitfy Songs” and commit to it. It has to be something you are interested in though.
This will give the right people a reason to follow you.

What’s your biggest accomplishment in life? Tell Steemit how you did it! We want to learn!

Interview a friend, family member or someone that’s important to your community. I interviewed my grandmother about her life.

List all the countries you have visited in alphabetical order and describe the country with one or two words.

Make the A – Z about yourself.

Fun facts about yourself and 10 things no one knows about you.

Write a post that is a response to someone else’s Steemit post. You can do this if you agree or disagree with the post, but you have to back up your opinions with real arguments.

Have you read a book or seen a movie lately? Write a summary of it and add your own opinions of it.

List your favorite quotes or sayings. Explain why they are your favorites.

List your five favorite songs and embed the Youtube music videos in your post.

Pick one of your previous vacations, share some pictures and write about what you did there and maybe list the positive and negative things about the place.

Select five random pictures from your phone and share some information about it.

Make a list of your favorite TV shows and add a fun fact about it. Write why you love them and what audience you think would like it.

Everyone has skills. Share yours by making a tutorial on how to do it or just simply share what you have made/done.

What is unique about you? Write a post about that!

We all have some embarrassing or weird pictures from our childhood. Find some of them and tells us what you know about it.

Make a post where you take pictures and document a normal day of your life. We all lead very different lives and it’s always fun to see what others are doing with their 24 hours.

Share the story of why you joined Steemit. Has it met your expectations?

Another advice for you:
I have a note that's called "Steemit ideas" on my phone. Every time an idea crosses my mind, I write it down. I now have over 30 ideas ready to go.

Good luck!

Writers walk. When you walk away to collect yourself, end up thinking of a million ideas in mere seconds. Rush back, most is forgotten. Writers walk.

Been there, done that. It sucks, especially when you thought you had the best idea ever!

Thank you, I suppose in a world like ours there are more than enough ideas. We just need to open our eyes and ears

No problem :) That's so true.

What a great list of ideas! The fact that you keep an ongoing list is a sign of someone who really intends to write. We all know there will be days of blah where we just can't think. This is a good thing; a list... awesome!
Thanks for sharing!

Love the quote idea! Will definitely plan to do that!

I can't wait to read it. Let me know when you post it :)

@susanne Upvoted and followed! This is a great post and was chosen to feature on the front page of today's 'Steem Talk' edition: https://steemit.com/news/@steemtalk/steem-talk-your-daily-best-of-steemit-digital-newspaper-thursday-evening-edition-23

Thanks for ideas and for the tips I 'll writte my ideas on phone too now ;)

You are Very welcome :) And I promise, if you don't write the ideas down, you'll forget them.

Wow
@susanne
This Article Post Rocks!
I Will Heed Your Advice!
Steem On!

Thank you so much @anns! That's some really kind words. Keep Steeming!

Thanks for taking the time to share your ideas :)

You're welcome @artbyjessyca! :) I hope it's helpful.

And if you happen to be working on a craft project, say creating a really awesome pirate hat, don't forget to take pictures so you can write a post about how you did it. Arggghhhh!!! I did this last night and forgot to take pics. :(

Ha ha!! Too bad you forgot! I had the same feeling when I made an awesome cake. I can't really bake, so I don't think I'll be able to recreate it,

This reminds me of grade 7 when we got our first "real" essay topic list, except for the weird picture part, because embarrassment in grade 7 equates to suicide :D Good ideas though and thank you for sharing.

Haha, except you didn't make any money of your essays in 7th grade? :) We all have that weird childhood picture, I sure have a lot of them. Maybe we shouldn't post the weirdes ones on Steemit. Ha Ha! You are welcome!

Good ideas. Thanks. Up voted and appreciate the same. Already following you.

Thank you so much! I hope you can use some of them.

Wow, such great advice, every single one!! Fabulous @susanne!!! <3 Thanks and I can't wait to try them all!! :-O XO Cheers!

I'm so glad you enjoyed them. Make sure to tell me when you write something, I would love to read it! Thanks for reading.

good and simple advices, thank you @susanne :)

Thank you- and you're welcome.

Great ideas, Susanne! I keep a "spark" file which I use to save ideas for my workplace blog but I should do the same for Steemit posts.

That's a clever thing to do! Thank you.

cool! thanks for the advice@susanne :-)

Thanks for the writings tips. They are great ideas. The hardest part of writing is always thinking of things to write about.

thx for the great ideas ;-) - resteemed!

I will say the same the others did, but I must say it: I loved your post. I never go anywhere without paper and pen (I'm from old school, when people wrote in paper lol). You never know when an idea will come. Thank you!!!

Thank you for the kind feedback, I really appreciate it.

To me, the problem isn’t in what to write about but how to write. I think every person wants to share his or her thoughts, feelings, and views on the world, etc. Yet, the big question is whether other people would be interested in what he or she has to say.

Paul McCartney once said: “A musician is writing music for himself. It makes him happy if other people like it as well.” Continuing his thought “if people don’t like it, then well that it’s tough.”

So a writer stands before a choice of “how to write?” To write looking over his/her shoulder to the audience, thinking whether it will like it and whether it will entertain it, or, God Forbid, not to offend someone’s feelings. Or write it honestly the way you see and feel it, in a way that you yourself like it and grow as a writer from one work to another.

I think that if you want to make money on Steemit you better write it for your audience or rather with the sole thought of entertaining your audience, because the audience isn’t going to appreciate Maximus’ scream “Are you not entertained?”

Thanks a lot. I am a newbie at Steemit and this will help me a lot.
