The toys of McStuffinsville are without a primary care physician as their local celebrity healer, Doc McStuffins, has deployed to Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan for a 179 day rotation.

Doc McStuffins in Afghanistan

McStuffins is a Captain in the 349th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron (AES) at Travis AFB and is on her second Air Force deployment as a flight doctor.

“I am excited to get into the shit,“ commented McStuffins. “My first deployment was supporting a U.S. Army exercise in the Philippines, and I treated a lot of sexually transmitted infections. This time around I am looking forward to providing more trauma and urgent care.”

Lieutenant Colonel Ed Walters is the 349th AES commander, and is Captain McStuffins’ primary supervisor.

“It can be challenging to manage an Airman with such a mammoth public profile, but around here I am the head honcho. Captain McStuffins recognizes my authority, and bends to my control. Hollywood can be fickle. There is no telling how long her star will shine. It is lucky for her that she has such an amazing leader guiding her Air Force career.”

McStuffins is hoping to use any downtime during her deployment to work on completing her Squadron Officer School coursework, and volunteering to triage the broken toys and dreams of Afghan children.
