How hard you life is

Everyday, on my way to work I always see an old guy with his (almost completely) broken bike picking up some -probably usable - garbage. On my way home, I would see two young guys beg for some money in the traffic jam. One looks normal, while the other is difable, he can't stand straight while his head is toward the sun - sorry can't explain it well, I can’t even look at him without crying every single day

Setiap hari, saya berpapasan dengan bapak-bapak tua pemulung, yang terlalu tua ditemani sepeda tuanya yang bisa dikatakan tidak layak pakai. Setiap pulang kerja, saya bertemu dua orang pengemis di lampu merah. Yang satu normal, yang satunya cacat dengan kepala yang mengadah ke matahari. During the weekend, I sometimes ride my bike to the nearby beach. While riding, I will meet old ladies in the swamps, who are working to pick up oysters and later will sell it for a cheap price

Di akhir pekan, kadang-kadang saya bersepeda ke pantai yang tak jauh dari rumah. Di perjalanan sering bertemu dengan ibu-ibu tua yang hanya kepala yang tertutup topi yang terlihat. Sedang badannya ada di dalam rawa-rawa. Ibu-ibu tua yang mencari tiram, yang kemudian menjualnya dengan harga terlalu murah

Looking at their life can be a good reminder to us, for me especially. Look how hard they work, how they are struggling form early morning till late night to provide their family. Look how they keep going in that phase, sometime it's not even what they choose to do, but they might not have any other choices

Bapak tua, si anak cacat yang dibawa mengemis di lampu merah, ibu-ibu pencari tiram. Bisa jadi itu bukan pilihan hidup mereka, bisa jadi mereka ga punya pilihan lain untuk menafkahi keluarga. Kehidupan mereka setidaknya menjadi pelajaran untuk saya, kamu, kalian.

Sometimes, you just need to look around to know how lucky you are. If you have to, look around frequently so that you will be more grateful for what you have

Terkadang, Kita perlu melihat sekitar untuk menyadari seberapa beruntungnya kita. Kalau perlu pandang mereka setiap harinya, sehingga kita bisa lebih bersyukur atas apa yg kita punya.

Everyone struggling in living, one way or another, some struggling for having too many jobs, one struggling for having not enough time or not enough money, other might have none. Be more grateful, appreciate more, complain from time to time when you are too tired is not wrong thing to do (IMO), but then remember, everyone is struggling too

Setiap orang berjuang keras untuk hidup. Ada yang punya banyak kerjaan dan menggila dengan kerjaannya, ada yang punya kerjaan tapi tak pernah punya cukup waktu atau penghasilan yang cukup, ada yg bahkan tak memiliki apapun. Lebih bersyukur , lebih menghargai apa yang telah kita miliki, sedikit mengeluh karena kelelahan misalnya - bukanlah sesuatu yg salah, tapi kemudian tetap harus ingat, bahwa semua orang berjuang untuk hidup.
