Focus and be successful in business! Easy, right?

They call it Shiny Object Syndrome.

This disease plays out like this: We are living in a world that is technology-driven, right? A peek in our newsfeed swiftly leaks out the new innovative ways to marketing your brand, latest app in helping start up businesses. And it instantly clings to us and make us feel doubts and a little bit insecure about our own first business idea.

So we jump from idea to idea.

Businesses operate on a trial and error, dry-run kind of way. But I am telling you!
Launching more than 2 businesses will at once is very likely to fail. Lack of strategy, marketing ideas, the list goes on and on.

Been there done that!

Or, say you are good at sales and marketing, you start to enroll at online courses, download countless of ebooks, join discussion groups and then what happens is that we would never really accomplish anything, because there is so much on our plate, tendency is, we get overwhelmed and we never know how and where to start. This is a vicious cycle, I have done this common mistake too and I learned the hard way. This behavior refrains us from focusing effectively and the quality of our progression diminishes.

Focus and be successful in business! They telling it… again and again

Some say… this is the only and well-known secret ingredient. Focusing on one thing has been said to be one of the most effective ways towards a successful business.

But how can I focus on one thing and one thing only, while constantly being confronted with endless distractions?

Pick one thing that you will master

Pick one thing that you will master, do it gloriously, revolve your life only around few things because if there’s too much going on. Otherwise, there will be too many distractions, it will be hard to stay focused. Again, staying focused is the key to building a successful career and living a great life.

Steve Jobs, one of my favorite thinkers of this generation once said:

“People think focus means saying yes to the thing you’ve got to focus on. But that’s not what it means at all. It means saying no to the hundred other good ideas that there are. You have to pick carefully. I’m actually as proud of the things we haven’t done as the things I have done. Innovation is saying no to 1,000 things.”

The same goes to successful people who focused and mastered their craft.

Michael Jordan basketball. He tried baseball.. :D
Bill Gates - Microsoft. First version… update… update… update...
Mark Zuckerberg launched Facebook and changed the social media world.
Notice the pattern?

All had one thing and they stick to their thing.
Staying focused needs perseverance and commitment.

Now I know this may sound kinda silly, but ask yourself:

What skills are you good at? What area do you think you will progress, and at the same time, you enjoy doing? We limit down where we want to be good at and study them. Read books about them. Put time and energy on it. Lastly, have faith in yourself. You will be surprised at the results once you have this formula.

Go all in! (at least once in your life)
