you missed a big point i wish you'd have touched on more. In a monarchy you have one person who feels incredibly incentivized to build up the kingdom so that their heirs have something worth inheriting. In a democracy you have public officials who are out there every four or so years trying to skim as much wealth for themselves from those they govern and nothing typically gets added back in. Its literally the difference between owning a home and renting an apartment.
