The Golden Queen
There was once a crippled man who swindled to survive. All across town he was known for his smooth air and hypnotic cadence. Few could resist his charms.
One day the cripple heard of a wealthy widow living just outside the town. He went to her home and charmed her all the same. For many weeks he entertained her, and she showered him with gold and good company. It was easy work on his part.
After a while, and for a long while, the swindler was no longer seen cheerfully prancing with his bouncing fat pockets. His friends grew curious and wary, then went to the widow’s house to investigate.
They found him standing straight and giggling happily in the widow’s garden - wearing a collar and watering the grass.
“The Lady loves my wicked tongue.” He said “She loves it much indeed.”

Thanks for reading!
Great article!
As in... he has happily committed to her because they enjoy carnal pleasures together? I'm mildly confused.
hehehe, it reminds me of Canterbury Tales. Just entertaining for the sake of entertaining.
Canterbury tales! I have a bit of that memorized in the old english. Let's see if I can reproduce it from memory!
Whan that april wit its shores soote
the droot of march hat perced to the the roote
and bathed evry veen in swich liqeur
of which vertu engendred is the fleur
Whan Zephirus eke wit his sweete breete
the tundre croppe and the yonge son
hath wit he ram halve coors ronne
And smale fowle that maken melodie
that slepen all the nicht wit open eye
so picketh them natur in the courages
than langen folk to go to pilgremages
Not sure of the spelling, but yes, I, too, enjoy Canterbury tales!
wow, you put me to shame, My Friend! of course, I would comment about the Canterbury Tales to one of the few people who can recite it! How amazing are you?!
Aw, shucks, I guess I'm pretty amazing :P
I'd say so. Olde English is basically another language you appear to know fluently
Well, I'm an actor and memorized that bit for a show. I couldn't make up prose in old English, but I understand what I'm saying.
That's one way to put it. lol.
ha!
I love this. I love the fairytale style of this, 'his fat pockets' excellent. I really dig your style!
Thanks, glad you liked it!
