"Follow for follow"

Many of us seasoned veterans here know the old 'follow for follow' trick is useless, if you're actually interested in at least making some money here.

Many of those resteem services collected their following by using the 'follow for follow' approach. They basically lured minnows with low value votes into following their accounts. The minnows thought it would be the best thing ever! The minnows also attempted the 'follow for follow' trick. Now they sit here with thousands of followers and no votes on their work. The people simply weren't interested in their work, they were interested in getting a follow. We don't get paid for having followers unless those followers vote.

So, yeah. The resteem services harvested followers. If you pick a few of those followers at random, you'll see how many of those accounts are of low value and inactive.

Also, many active members follow other active members. Their personal feeds stay full. When a member goes crazy resteeming everything they see, that user typically gets the boot from the feed(unfollowed). For many people, too many resteems is considered spam. It's cluttering up their feed and making it difficult for them to see the posts of the people they actually enjoy following.

Not many active members here tolerate an individual spamming resteems. Now imagine what happens to those accounts who get paid to resteem. Anyone following that resteem service account would be constantly bombarded with random articles from people they don't know. I personally made this mistake and it didn't take long for me to hit that unfollow button.

Just imagine you're sitting on Facebook and suddenly your feed is full of random status messages from millions of people you don't know, from all over the world, using languages you don't speak.

It's a waste of time and money using those services and I pointed out why that is in the words above that you were too lazy to read.
