The steemit tags payout power index (PPI) will really rock you
Tags you thought had the best 'earning' power turn out to be the worst!
How the Payout Power Index is calculated
Number of POSTS for tags by order of HIGHEST payouts:

So there you have it.
Creating for and posting in WRITING, BLOG & STEEM will get you the most positive user reactions
You can be forgiven thinking you are going to earn more creating and posting in the top payouts but apparently viewed from this analysis it is not so. There are TOO many posts. Viewers and your followers are overwhelmed by the vast number of posts.
It is too easy to take a photo with a smartphone and post a cavalcade of travel food receipes or themes art photo shots few even see and even fewer comment or upvote on.
The TOP THREE in payouts end up the BOTTOM THREE of the top ten of the payout power index which takes into account total payout, total posts and importantly how many comments there are so we learn that all comments are NOT EQUAL. Some subjects get people involved and pounding the keyboard more than others. Some comments are very easy to make and they flood the top payout driving their PPI down whice the top three of writing, blog and steem show that those posts not only attract reward upvotes but fewer more considered replies.
Posting content that has nothing to do with tags is obstructive and will get you downvoted - like the ridiculous case of some guy promoting green plastic BEDPANS designed for hospital patients with colorchallenge photography tag!
Please help your followers maximize their steemit returns by creating content users reward most by spreading the word and resteem this post.
And just incase you have a thing for steem-promoted colorchallenge bedpans, could you go wrong with this?
So, suggest me some tags which can be used. I normally use blog, life, writing, story, write-up, motivation, inspiration, quote, amazing, video, youtube, etc, etc.
Writing blog and steem are the top three 'earners' apparently. You have all but BLOG.
Great post, will be interesting to see if this works as I blog my backpacking adventure through South America.
Followed :)
Thanks and safe bon voyage - writing & blog are certainly 100% relevant to your trip so the riches of Steemit El Dorado will soon be heaped on you! Vaya con Dios
Thank you! I will have to try this. Of course I'm guessing this works because these topics are the most widely appealing. Simply tagging an unrelated article with these tags probably won't help. You will need to actually write about these topics.
Thank you too!
Writing and blog are relevant to a lot on here (except bedpans!) but blatant spaming with totally unrelated tags will be flaged by users.
By way of experiment to maximize returns I think it's more a case of changing and FOCUSSING what you create to the TAGS not find tags to fit what you do.
