A Strong Message Speaks By Its Own: JOHN LENNON pacifist and musician

in #writing6 years ago (edited)

Hi, Steemit!

Today I may tell you about some curious stuff. It came to me an idea when I read a post from a contest called “My 3 Favourite Songs” (Mis 3 Canciones Favoritas, in #spanish). I wanted to enter, because as a musician and music lover I have so many favourite songs, not only three. Trying to make my decision of entering or not so, I thought about one of my favourite artists since I was a kid.

#Spanish Version: MIS 3 CANCIONES FAVORITAS

While following a mental path on which would be my three choices, I thought about 3 compositions from this excellent musician, singer and –I must say– also known as pacifist. So that is from where came this idea of creating phrases with the names of three of his song related to the theme of love and peace.

Many may consider John Lennon as too eccentric, bohemian, someone who used music to bring a certain message which phrases are often quoted, as: “*We live in a world where we have to hide to make love, while violence is practiced in broad daylight*”. Another controversial phrase said by him, non from one song, compares Beatles fame with Jesus’, meaning that people could easily substitute church for a Beatles concert.

Do you know what an anagram is? I made my own –more than one, I must say– with three phrases which are also the names of three song of him. These are:

Imagine
All You Need Is Love
Give Peace A Chance

We can make of these three titles, randomly, propositions, as a way of anagram, which make us feel a sense of love and peace.

Imagine, all you need is love. Give peace a chance
“Imagine: give peace a chance, all you need is love”
Give peace a chance. Imagine. All you need is love
“Give peace a chance, all you need is love: Imagine”
All you need is love. Give peace a chance, imagine
“All you need is love, imagine, give peace a chance”

It might have been an idea that just came to my mind and which I didn’t want to let go because it seemed witty to me. Maybe I also like to think and have the fantasy that Lennon, in the midst of his genius, as musician, composer and pacifist, would have realised of this possibility I present you today; because he's not here anymore we wouldn’t know what else he could have done of his brilliant ideas and good messages, the ones he continuously expressed and some of to which we may listen from his songs.
