She stared out through the train window. She took this train every day to work. She had so often decided to move closer to her work and the next day she would finally move to her new home, three hundred meters away from her work. The fact that it was the last day today that she would make this train journey made her just a little sadder. On the same date, three years ago, he had stepped into the train. The man of her dreams, her great love.
With his tousled, uncombed hair and his shirt crookedly buttoned, he hurriedly sat down next to her. He nearly knocked over her coffee. He did not need an excuse, he did not say anything. She was about to throw him with a distorted look. Almost because she looked in his light brown viewers and was completely sold. A few seconds her stomach contracted, her hands shaking. She had to say something. This man could not just let them run. But he did not even seem to see her.
Quickly she wiped a lock of hair out of her face and with red cheeks she said; Your blouse is rather strange, have you overslept? He looked at her amused and said; "No, I have not overslept. Sleeping is when I had not reached the right train and you had been there ". She smiled at the memory. The conversation had gone smoothly and he had asked her phone number. That same evening he called and asked her. They had immediately become inseparable.
For two years they had lived together very intensely, they had so much fun together, but then there was suddenly that merger at work. They had reorganized the whole thing and because it was not easy to find another job he had to choose between his work and her. The company moved to America and he moved with it. They had seen no possibility to continue the relationship. She could not leave this country, that did not allow her career. A week after his announcement that he was going to America they were crying at the airport. Why was he, a year later, not yet out of her mind?
That year she had deposited at her work. Still she kept thinking about him, he thought of her? She knew only too well that worry did not make sense and took a stack of minutes from her bag. Today it would be a busy day with enough distraction. Concentrated she went through the papers. She was so busy that she did not notice that the train stopped at the station. The rumors around her had become so common in those years that it no longer stood out.
Without looking up she felt that someone was sitting next to her. Annoyed, she pushed aside her bag to make room. Suddenly she felt her leg getting warm at the knee. Coffee dripped over her pantyhose. She looked up with a distorted look and looked straight into the fun eyes she had so often seen up close. "Today I consciously overslept," he whispered. He could not have taken her out of his mind and taken the day off, hoping she would still be in the same train. A week earlier he had stepped into his boss's office and had submitted his resignation. Finally he realized that there were things that were more important than a job. Because he had spare days left he could take the plane to the Netherlands after 3 days of packing, and here he was.
He saw that she was blushed, happy to see him, and he gently stroked her hair. "Do you want to travel with me again?" He asked cautiously, "I missed you so much, I could not let this day pass by without telling you what I still feel for you". Confused she gave the first answer that came to her mind "I am moving, we can not travel together". He smiled and grabbed her face gently. "Then we travel by boat, do you want to marry me?
