Es domingo 27 de octubre, por fin a las 12pm logré salir de la casa. Después de muchos días había llegado el agua por lo que había que aprovecharla al máximo. Miguel me había dicho que la actividad era a las 10am. ¿Pero se daría?
Últimamente muchas actividades se convocaban y no se realizaban. Era como dos fuerzas en sentido contrario que chocaban. Por un lado las del "querer hacer" y por el otro lado las de la "imposibilidad de hacer", ambas actuando simultáneamente, en una extraña simbiosis. Nos enfrentamos a múltiples deseos que no se concretan. Deseos que chocaba con la realidad o peor aún con "la crisis".
La crisis, ese estado que envolvía nuestra cotidianidad y servía de contexto a nuestra vida. Y que a veces hacía difícil o imposible realizar cualquier iniciativa, tarea, actividad. Atacando a los convocados, a los posibles participantes e incluso a los organizadores de diferente maneras.
"Estoy sin agua o llegó el agua, estoy sin comida o estoy buscando alimentos, no tengo dinero para salir de casa, estoy deprimido, se me enfermo alguien, no hay transporte, etc".
Algunas veces excusas, otras veces mala suerte, otras la manifestación de la situación global en nuestras vidas. Todas con el mismo impacto: la imposibilidad de hacer.

Sometimes excuses, sometimes bad luck, sometimes the manifestation of the global situation in our lives. All with the same impact: the impossibility of doing.

Paso la entrada del parque, no percibo indicios de la actividad, sigo avanzando. Cuando comienzo a subir la rampa de cemento hacia la iglesia, escucho, los sonidos de los machetes sobre los arbustos y las desmalezadoras. En los bancos redondos de cemento, que forman un gran círculo, hay gente sentada bajo el cobijo de los árboles. El sol a esta hora es inclemente. Veo una mesa con mujeres picando verdura, me aproximó y escucho un grito que dice: "Luis agarra un machete y ponte a trabajar", es Miguel desde una escalera a unos 2 km. Llegue a la actividad y me alegro por el encuentro.

_ unas 20, lo que pasa es que llegó el agua, por lo que la gente se dedica a lavar, limpiar, cocinar, se bañan hasta 3 veces para aprovechar (lo dice bromeando).

Después de los saludos de costumbre, veo las diferentes tareas pendientes y herramientas disponibles. Decido sumarme con la escoba, han cortado la maleza de los lados de la escalera y hace falta recoger los desechos y la basura. También ofrezco hacer un registro fotográfico de la actividad, que sirva para las redes sociales y para llamar a nuevas jornadas de trabajo y sobretodo para llamar al resto de los vecinos a conservar el espacio.
Hay unas 10 personas haciendo una gran sopa y otras 20 trabajando, desmalezando, recogiendo la basura y limpiando. En pocas horas se ha logrado que el espacio abandonado por muchos años se vea diferente. La gente que pasa saluda y agradece la iniciativa. Se les invita a participar y a ayudar a conservar el espacio.

Uno de los temas que discutimos es la necesidad que toda la comunidad se sume a la conservación del espacio porque sino el esfuerzo habrá sido en vano. Para eso hay que comunicar lo que estamos haciendo, mostrar que ha sido realizado por un igual, por otro vecino. Y que con la participación de la comunidad se puede rescatar y transformar. Algo muy necesario teniendo en cuenta la situación país.
Otra cosa que comentamos es que la crisis somete a la gente a unos estados de ansiedad que la paraliza, que la llena de culpa por la situación que está viviendo. Por lo que esté tipo de trabajo voluntario también es terapéutico. Nos permite sentirnos como sujetos que podemos transformar nuestro entorno y no como sujetos pasivo frente a una crisis que se nos impone.

So this type of volunteer work is also therapeutic. It allows us to feel as subjects that we can transform our environment and not as passive subjects in the face of a crisis that is imposed on us.

Esta es la tercera jornada de recuperación del parque trapichito o "el trapiche" cómo se le conoce por haber sido parte de una hacienda de caña de azúcar. Aún conservar el molino (Noria) y parte del sistema hidráulico (Acequia) que lo hacía funcionar en épocas pasadas. Está lleno de árboles frondosos y centenarios. Tiene en sus predio una iglesia, un liceo, un club de adultos mayores, una cancha deportiva.
Esta jornada es parte de un trabajo voluntario, que busca demostrar que con la participación de las comunidades se pueden transformar los problemas. Que las soluciones colectivas son posibles y que todos podemos ser sujetos activos de la transformación.

This is the third day of recovery of the trapichito park or "el trapiche" as it is known for having been part of a sugar cane farm. It is currently a park of about 20 km2 on two levels separated by steep slopes. It is full of leafy trees and centenarians. It has on its premises a church, a high school, a club for the elderly, a sports field.
