I agree entirely and have also been less depressed in being more compassionate to myself--not submerging what I need on behalf of another. Some time ago a friend of mine asked me to get really clear on my own values and was surprising to find I had difficulty in naming these outside of outward relating.

Thank you. I had a therapist who helped me pick out my values once via a list (Google list of values to find something similar) and it helped me understand where I was coming from.
