For every person lifting you up, there is another rooting for your demise. Some might call it balance, others might call it human, others still might say that that's just life. Regardless of whether this is just the way of things, tension and pull between such polarities can be destabilizing if you let it. So how do you not let it?
The crypto markets might be relatively newish in the grand scheme of things (cryptocurrencies have been evolving for nearly almost a decade now), but they really are just the latest iteration of a larger social experiment - the free flow of the human experience. The social media chorus, favoring the spectacle of the carnival, obscures what is ultimately a planetary revolution.
What happens when value can be transferred almost instantaneously across the globe securely and for free without middlemen? What happens when billions of individuals are empowered with that ability? Everything changes. Ancient priesthoods and kingships of all kinds are overthrown, political borders are exposed for the illusions that they are, and we are free to engage with one another once again at a deeply human level.
These newfound planetary capabilities shrink the world, illuminate the dark, and water deserts; they enable us to feed the multitudes, free the captives, give sight to the blind, all at an unprecedented scale. Evolution is painful and growing up is hard to do, but we're here. The planet has evolved itself via the human mind, the human heart, human hands, the human spirit.
However, as author William Gibson famously once said, "The future is already here - it's just not evenly distributed." Despite Pharaoh's priests being exposed and humiliated by plague after plague, he still sent his army to chase after the Israelites, only for it to be swallowed whole by the sea. As the future distributes itself in a material sense, spreading the awareness and acceptance of its arrival is just as important. The future is here, it is weird, and that's okay.
Our own pharaohs' priests will continue to be humiliated and their armies will be swallowed by the seas if they forget to accept what is already apparent to so many of the rest of us. All regimes rise and fall, and they are always temporary.

The future is here...it sounds like EOS tagline hehehe
The future looks good
@joshpeterson !! Great writing, and that image is epic! I just finished writing out a few essays yesterday and one is focused on how cryptocurrencies are basically a big social experiment. It seems we're both in the same head space.
Gave you a full upvote and resteem and promoted this one because it's material like this that needs to be on the trending page here. Keep writing, I'm looking forward to reading more :)
Awesome, thank you so much, @heiditravels!! I'm so glad you liked it!
Are you going to publish that piece? I'd love to read it :)
Wow this is so eloquently framed. For change that feels so turbulent and chaotic, you describe it as if it's smooth as falling dominoes made of silk. Very refreshing read :)
No one has ever described my writing like that before. Thank you, @saradear :) I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Haha really? No one else has described your writing as silken dominoes? Weird.. Ha you're welcome! Look forward to reading more.
Good

Hi, geat posting, Totally agree with you..We're new here.
Great post. This is so well written and well thought out. I'm very new to this world and still learning but I find crypto a fascinating concept.
The future is crypto youre absolutely right! Mass adoption of it will begin taking place this year and next year.
Well written - I'm more or less in same head-space - thinking crypto could be the human revolution we so desperately need and it seems like a conscious human decision to supersede banking/energy/military cabal.
I'm very hopeful too.🍬

thank you for the information post. Very interesting. I'm following you
Great article. I loved the contrast between the old and the new, especially the ancient Egyptian lore.
Still, I always tell people that the Future is now. I went to university and studied/experimented Nano-Robotics and Emerging Technology during my thesis. It really changed my perspective on the world. We have such technological wonder that can empower humanity it's outstanding. Combining open source, AI, and blockchain technology is definitely the future and reality of humanity.
Like the Internet itself. Like Social Media. Blockchain technology will change the collective conversation of humanity. Giving back and distributing power amongst The People.
It's vital that, at some point, centralisation comes into crypto. Not states and governments, but elected groups created by the crypto community. Otherwise, it'll be swamped by criminals and terrorists. Or both.
Each blockchain has its own form of governance, outlined by its white paper, and actualized by the code and its supporting community. Since you're on Steemit, if you haven't already, I recommend reading the Steem white paper and/or blue paper.
Crypto is governance, and code is law. The whole point of crypto is decentralization.
Regarding your "criminals and terrorists" argument, that's easily debunked just by looking at human society in general. No system of government completely eradicates crime or terrorism, and crypto is no different. And depending on who you ask, certain governments are criminal and terrorist enterprises, and centralization is enforced through violence.
here here!! Exciting times indeed.
