Tension of the Opposites

in #writing7 years ago

Being in the middle or in between is the most dangerous, unsafe and stressful place to be at. When you don't know exactly what you want, where you want to be, and what you're supposed to be doing. A sister shared to me a book entitled "The Crossroads of Should and Must" by Elle Luna. According to her, there are two paths in life: Should and Must and we arrive at this crossroads over and over again. It was then I realized, I'm facing this road.

A crossroad of different choices in life. I remembered the theory of tension of opposites shared by Morrie Shwartz to Mitch Albom (Tuesdays with Morrie) that I really like:

"Life is a series of pulls back and forth. You want to do one thing, but you are bound to do something else. Something hurts you, yet you know it shouldn't. You take certain things for granted, even when you know you should never take anything for granted. A tension of opposites, like a pull on a rubber band. And most of us live somewhere in the middle."

And I find it parallel to what Paul experienced, "I don't really understand myself, for I want to do what is right , but I don't do it. Instead, I do what I hate. I have discovered this principle of life - that when want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong." (Romans 7:15,21) …

What crossroad are you in? :)
