One fine evening, as I was strolling down the street I saw some children jumping up and down and dancing all around for no godforsaken reason. They seemed like they couldnt care less about where they are and how people are passing by them, by looking at them as if they were a bunch of lunatics. Their jovial attitude exuded a sense of loveliness which radiated throughout the area. A part of me wanted to join them and experience what they are experiencing that very moment, but considering that I was as much of stranger to them as they were to me, I decided to move past them.
As I walked on, I realised that what those children had in cheer abundance was something most of us grown up lack. I realised that life is not about being dull and thinking about all the things that we lack or have missed out on. Its not about sitting back and cursing our bad luck, nor about freaking out over things that we have no control over. As we look back we remind ourselves about the time when we were just a little kid who seemed to be always guy no matter what life night be like for him/her. Think about how pain and simple everything used to be in spite of all the ugly mess in and around us. Could you make out the difference between how are you were back then and how you are now?
At first you might be puzzled and foolishly let yourself belief that nothing has changed then. But if you dig deep into your heart and try and find the answer then only will you be able to see the sheer contrast between the past and the present. Though, the difference is huge but the causes that led to such variations are quite distinct and minute. It is just the simple fact that now we have stopped appreciating what we have and are not satisfied with our lives. When we were small we just looked for minute for minute excuses to be happy and to live like theres no tomorrow but now even when we are happy beyond our senses we just control our emotion and maintain a dignified posture thereby losing the chance to experienced the joy of it all. We think about whats next on the line instead of taking a moment to let it all sink in and be thankful to God for all that we have and for all that we are.
Let us ask ourselves a few basic questions!! Why are we so driven by the idea of success and yet when success come to our doorstep we fail to rejoice it?? Why is everyone so keen ton moving forward and not living in the present? We have forgotten how it all used to be for us. Yes, we have achieved and that too a lot but do you really feel that all that is worth losing your identity?? Are you sure that missing out on what life is all about doesnt make a difference in the long run?? Do you think that all this praises we receive for achieving the unachievable is even worth all the precious moments we couldnt care less about?? Are we really living our life to the fullest like we fool ourselves into believing??
Once or twice, we should look back in life and try and find some answer as to what are missing all along. Hopefully, it will open our eyes and help us foresee where exactly we are headed in our lives. Maybe, we still have not lost that one last chance to give ourselves a chance to be what we are and not what we are expected to be. Maybe, we can make that one bit of difference to our life and make it a worthwhile experience.
