Most critical People Are Not Critical With Malicious Intent.

Most critical people are not critical with malicious intent. This is just their way of life usually, because they judge themselves so harshly. However, there are those critical people who like to get a reaction and may intend to cause some negative feelings. In this case the best thing you can do is ignore them. The more you respond, the more likely they will continue to be negative – and so the cycle will continue. You can’t stop critical people from talking, but you have the power to shorten the conversation. Just chuckle at the experience, that is all that is necessary.

I am sometimes apparently critical because I think that I am expressing some kind of truthful observation. I wonder how much truth is being lost by people being too sensitive and not open to change or acceptance. I like to think that I sometimes know when to keep my mouth shut. I am sure that there is something wrong with what I just said.

unconditional, I think you made a valid point. My personal perception is criticism comes from more of a place of judgment, and is many times reactionary Whereas, observation using discernment doesn't cause us to be reactionary or critical. It allows us to observe and take action. If that makes sense?

That makes sense. Thanks.
