What does our flag mean? - Venezuela

I hope you are good, as you know, the national flag is the national symbol that represents a country, it is very important and I think that everyone feels respect for it for what it represents, that is why today I want to talk a little about of the meaning of the colors and symbols that make up the flag of my country Venezuela.

Our national flag is formed by three horizontal bands with the colors yellow, blue and red, also has 8 stars in the form of an arc within the blue band.

First, we have the yellow color, which represents the riches of the country, gold, the sun of the tropics, sovereignty and justice.

Next we have the blue color, which represents the seas that surround the Venezuelan coasts, the rivers and lakes of the country, as well as the sky that covers our land.

In third place we have the red color, which represents the blood that our liberators and heroes shed to obtain our freedom and sovereignty, and in turn also means love, strength, power and progress.

And finally we have the 8 stars, which represent the eight provinces that made up the national territory at the time of independence from Spain, these were Caracas, Cumaná, Barcelona, ​​Barinas, Margarita, Mérida, Guayana and Trujillo.

Previously they were only seven stars, since at the moment of the signature of the act of independence that was made on July 5, 1811, it was only signed by seven provinces, to be later signed by the province of Guayana, this being the later 8th star.
