THE FEMALE COMPLEX😷😷(YES, YOU CAN!)

in #writing7 years ago (edited)

The position for the SRC (student Representative Council) Chairperson, Deputy-Chairperson and other Executive positions were up for contest. The only persons that opted and began campaign for the position of the Chairperson's position were all male and the females opted for the position of the Deputy-chairperson and other lower positions.
NOTE: there was no restrictions as to what gender can via for any of the positions.

At the interview, all persons (Males) interested in the chairperson's position failed the interview except one person. The election was postponed to a later date to give another opportunity for new applicants since the only candidate left could not go unopposed.
The females began to nominate new male candidates and exempted themself. On noticing this, the Director of Academics said:
"Please Ladies rise up and apply for the
Position, it isn't meant nor restricted to
The males alone. We have never had a
Female student representative council
Chairperson before, I Will be glad if this
Record can be broken"
He didn't land his statement when the females began to rebel and respond negatively towards the statement, like he just blasted a bomb. They saw the impossibility of a woman handling such task.

My question is this? Do we think there are actually certain responsibilities and achievements we are restricted from? Of course my answer is NO!!!! we can do much more better if only we attempt.
Everyone has its area of specialization but we have allowed inferiority complex to demean us and fill our heads with the thought that we can't but YES, WE CAN.

As a woman, if you have the passion for anything, please go for it. Yes, people will try to talk you down or out and make you see reasons why you shouldn't, but just know that, your dream is yours and your achievements are yours too but let everyone partake from the benefits.
-you want to be a doctor? SURE, YOU CAN! don't let the tales of blood discourage you.
-you're interested in Law? OF COURSE! YOU CAN!
-you're interested in politics? YES, YOU CAN lead better than the person you're looking up to.
-you're interested in Engineering? Get down with it, you can do better.
-you're a motivational speaker? Do it with boldness and don't let the audience scare you with their faces.
-you love teaching? Go out there and produce better breed with what you can offer...

The list is endless, Everyman should support a woman achieve her goals, give them the chance to equally try out things they feel they can't do and you will discover, we are better than we can even imagine. NO ONE WAS EVER CREATED USELESS. WE ALL HAVE USEFUL PARTS TO PLAY IN EACH OTHERS LIVES.

You look beautiful dear. By seeing the first line of your post I thought you want to contest for SRC.

Oh! Sorry, I didn't for reasons I've already stated in my reply to two comments above. Thanks for stopping by.

I actually thought you contested for the position of Chairperson of the SRC. I was sincerely waiting for the testimony that you won. 😁😁

You look very capable for the job. The picture I see above looks like that of a chair lady. If there is still an opportunity, please I want you to contest and give it a shot.

Women are very important in the world and should be well cherished. I have a mum and a sister and I love them beyond words can express. I can do anything for them. I can give my life for theirs and I seriously mean it. No woman should look down on herself. Thanks for sharing this awesome post @favoursampson

Awwww! Thanks for reading. I didn't contest because I'm not politically inclined😁 but I support women who are. I have my own area of specialization, not mainly because I can't do it if I want to but I've already channeled my time and energy into human right campaign, women support and empowerment. I hope to function in my best capacity in this field.
I really appreciate your support, it means a lot to me. Your comment is an inspiration.

Awwwn. Thank you. You will do so well. It is already very obvious. I wish you the best. Cheers. 😁

I was actually waiting to hear that you later stood up to them as the female contestant too but nay! The thing is female fear to hold unto responsibilities like that not because they can't but because of what the society as shaped them to believe in.

I was waiting for the same thing, @jerryboy4luv. But I see that you're not politically inclined, and I don't blame you. :) Your words and thoughts are powerful and timely. Let women and men be on the same level, and may the old chains of inequality be broken. Blessings!

It is like intrenalized racism: one believes the narrative society has given them. The first step is being aware of ones own internalized sexism and the falshood of that narrative. Famous phrase: be who you want to be, not what others want to see.

Thank you for reading and leaving value added comment. I concur the phrase "be who you want to be, not who others want to see. I hope we take that as food for thought.

One thing about me is that, i always love women that are in leadership position...
Nice and interesting write up.

Thank you for this lovely comment and thanks for encouraging women leadership.

You are always welcome

Great post, thank you for all you've written so far in support of women.
I kept reading hoping you were going to say that you decided to run and became the first ever female Chairperson :)

Thanks for your encouraging words. Sorry, I burstedvyour expectation. I only support women that are interested in politics. I'm engaged in other positions relating to humanity that's why I didn't think of contesting to avoid distractions. I'm glad you stopped by.

Then you made the right choice :)
