June 30 Days Writing Challenge - Life Hack - Day Twenty Nine: What Is "Me Time" And Why Do You Need It

in #writing6 years ago

Hello and welcome to the twenty ninth day of the June 30 days writing challenge. If you want to know all the details about this specific challenge, have a look at the introductory post. In short, I will be posting every day a short tip, or technique, or opinion, something that you can call a "life hack". Feel free to join the challenge and post your own life hacks. I will do my best to upvote each day at full strength (about $3 at the current STEEM price) 3 posts tagged #challenge30days (leaving a link to your posts in the comments will also help).

Get Used To Know Yourself

"Me Time", that cumbersome thing that you enjoy doing, yet you can never brag about it. Awkward...

Truth is, every once in a while you need to pause. To unplug from the incessant daily interaction and spend a little time with that person that you thought you knew, only to find out in this solitary exercise that he changed so much: yourself.

We define ourselves in relation with the others, but we endure the consequences of our actions individually. How paradoxical this is, if you really think about it.

How many times you wanted to save the world, to be the Batman of your closed group of friends, only to realize, once alone, that you don't really like heights. Or fighting. Or, to a certain extent, saving the world.

There is a continuous balance between how we construct our personalities in order to be accepted in our group, and what our individual needs are. We strive to get accepted by our colleagues at work, by our family members at home, by our friends in our closed circle of social life, but at the same time we need to recharge, to pause, to get same space and constantly recalculate the trajectory we're navigating in this world.

"Me Time" is an indispensable tool in this life. It's not a luxury, not even a "nice to have". Without it, we're doomed to lose perspective sooner or later, and get lost in a whirlwind of social commitments, borrowed goals and empty ambitions.

So just make sure you put aside a weekend every couple of months, just for yourself.

I'm really curious to read about your life hack today. Leave a comment with a link to your post, if possible.

Both intorverts and extroverts need it to gain some energy and also to analyze their day activities. Superb hack.

Everyone should challenge him or her self in a particular think and this is how we become better in life..

Have a great evening and weekend!

I wholeheartedly agree with this. Doing things on your own each day if possible is extremely important. That way you don't have to wonder where you end and others begin, because you will know what you think and want to do and what's best for you.

Family and friends are important, but they too are individuals with wants, needs and goals. If you can work together on the common goals, great. However, there will always be something that each one of us needs that others not so much.

I think this so called "Me time" must have anybody especially teenagers, or those who are stressed. Earlier I read about this factor in one of publications in the journal on philosophy and psychology. And only after It I understood that when I'm running in forest and being alone with nature myself and my thoughts, exactly at this moment become my "Me time"!

"...........to be the Batman of your closed group of friends, only to realize, once alone, that you don't really like heights. Or fighting."

LOL! So true.

The time we spent alone not only allows us to put our thoughts together but it allows us to do so in manner that is true to ourselves. You are right when you say that without 'me time' we are doomed because in those moments we put everything that we have dealt with in the emotional processor.

Even when we need company or want to be with a lived one we need short breaks for the 'me time'.

Your writting challeng is very amazing .
You are almost successful person .

So just make sure you put aside a weekend every couple of months, just for yourself.

I guess this point should be enough to be above the ups and down of getting much more acquainted to friends and colleagues leaving oneself out of self discoveries
