Who Am I?

in #writing7 years ago

There comes that point in life where everyone asks themselves this question. Sometimes the answer can shock the person, I personally hope it does shock you (in a good way). If you are not blown away with thought by this question, then you have to do some deep soul reflecting.

So Who Am I

I am the son of great parents, they might not be rich or have a great social status, they might not have achieved much. But I am who I am because of them and there is no amount of honor, glory or riches that can be given them to represent this great achievement.

To find out who you are one must do a bit of reflecting on all the things you have done and gone through in life.

Where it all started

When I was little, I wanted to be free, my spirit was wild and free. This generally got me into a lot of trouble because, firstly I was a boy (no words are needed to describe that) secondly, my mind was constantly busy.

My mother could put me in a room and I could keep myself busy. I absolutely loved to create and invent new things. I used to come up with games to play, with my brother and friends, even if we never ended up playing them at all.

I am a servant.

Some people might think or believe that this word "servant" means very little and that it shows weakness or bad life choices. But for me I have never been happier than when I serve others, helping other people out brings me so much joy. I never suffer from depression or sadness because there is always someone worse off and I can help them.

I want to make a change in the world, if I could change one thing about everyone who lives in the world, I would have them all change how they treat each other.

I am not a writer

I am not a writer, I just love to share my heart and the feelings I have with others. One of my favorite things to do is write love letters for no one to read. I always hated languages and when I had the chance I would tell my teacher how pointless it was for me to be in her English class, as I thought I would never become a author or writer.

Last year I learnt where good writing comes from... and so I was drawn to writing as I love to share the passions of my heart.

Mysterious

I do not enjoy sharing to many things about myself, there are many reasons for this, but you will have to try find that out for yourself.

I am 20 and if you had to search for me on the internet, you would not find me. But if you had to search my heart, you would find the true me, who I really am, you just better be ready for what you find.

Most times i ask myself who am I,what am i capable of doing so many questions running through my mind that I only can answer,we all have to discover the nature of our lives so as to achieve greater things and pass all the task ahead of us in the journey of life,Nice write up

You are a steemit whale

You are a man of value and that's because i value you and your contributions to this platform even if not many do.

You are also a good writer because i could see it in the way you interact with this community.

You are @dragonsayer109, at least that's the name i know you answer on steemit

You are from South Africa in west Africa

I am not trying to define you, i'm only trying to tell you my perspective of you. I might be wrong or right but none matters. What matter is that i had the courage to write this stupid stuff and click the post button.

WHO AM I?
I am an adult that never got the chance to be a child. Since I was little I've been sexually, phisically and emotionally abused and another 10 years in a domestic violence relationship which I've been fighting all of this years for my freedom. I am glad that you understand what means to be free and just enjoy the life the way it is.

Damm sorry to hear that .hope life is treating you better now!

Please look at my post to participate

Since February, yes, I discovered what means to live for yourself and not for others, or what means to take your own decisions in life. I will try to say my story but I don't think I will be able to say all of it. It's just too much. I would like to say how I managed to contact the police and how I managed to run away from my ex. Or how I had to survive all of this years on my own, being abandoned by my own parents which I have no idea who they are.

@surpassinggoogle i'm so amazed on your post..you are a blessing to everyone, many steemians are expressing themselves to the community..thanks to your reputation and your good will, your inspired people, look they post and participated on your voice of expression based on categories for instance "who i am "theme. and untalented"thanks for organizing the event contest.

A servant" has greater meaning than what we think. It is said to be the position of a king in relation to his people, look at 1st king 12:7. Even Jesus came to serve, to lay down his life and that didnt make him a lesser person. It only made him greater than anyone else
Nice post bro

Very well written! The technology of today, unfortunately, has diminished the writing skills of society. It is a lost art among the general public, but you, dragonslayer109, at only 20 years of age, are keeping that art alive, and I commend you for that. Well done👍. OK, so even as a person long past my 20s, I do embrace today's technology.

Amazing ...! you are a very mysterious motivator full of inspiration, in fact we do not need to plan a change because that change is not us who make.

Thanks for sharing from your heart. To most, it's not an easy task, and yet from how you write, I know it comes from a very special place. #kudos

William Forrester: "The key to writing is to write, not to think."

This is an awesome post. Everything you say is so true, why can we not be nice to everyone who cross our path. It cots nothing and might make a difference to that person. Thank you for sharing your heart with us.

Hi Mummy giantbear. Would like you to participate on the initiative in my last post. Please read the comments too or some of them

I think we, The Non-Writers That Writes, should form a group. It could just become a thing, who knows. But you are a dragon slayer! Who needs to write if he could do that? Keep steeming.

I want to make a change in the world, if I could change one thing about everyone who lives in the world, I would have them all change how they treat each other.

Let me top it up, You are amazing!!!

Nice write up! However i know you more than you have decided to write about yourself... (am i for real?)
Here goes something...!

You my friend, are a dragonslayer!

That was a pretty deep post nice work. It is good to ask yourself these questions and occasionally reflect on them and make sure you are on the path that you want to be on and make proper course corrections if your not.

You are a dragonslayer! Don't deny it!

I like the positive meaning that you give in calling yourself a servant. I feel it's quite original and as an impact I was a bit perplexed with this definition you gave of yourself, but then I got your point. I agree that the true joy in life comes in sharing feelings and walking together with others the same way.. I love to make a difference and to solve people's problems, I believe that we need to leave this world better than how we found it, don't you agree? :-) Keep up the good work, followed resteemed and upvoted. I will be glad if you will want to share your opinion on what we write and be friends.

Very nice and sincere idea)) I wanted to read more and more)) But unfortunately the post has ended))) Now I'm pleased to write you a comment))) I wish you a great day, my dear friend)))

Ray Yabo aka @modernpastor

It can be hard to figure out who you are, and some people are never fully sure. Also, I guess who we are changes with time - maybe not the absolute core, but we grow, evolve with the times (or devolve, occasionally.) We jump about in fits and starts.

I sometimes like to think that most of us (even if we don't know it) are on a journey towards finding some divine spark inside of ourselves. We need to plunge into the recesses of our minds to do that.

I could remember one of your post you wanted something different if you die than being mourned, Some suggested Playing rock music/party. Cant remember tho, so that is the mystical side of you... Lol, lovely read!

You know when you mentioned serving others, it rang a bell. Sometimes I feel am here on earth to make money for others... truly that is what it should be. The service of others and humanity is the best wealth. Apart from all you mentioned, you forgot to mention that you are the coolest person ever...haha. Loving this @dragonslayer109.

You have not participated. Kindly see my last post. Many of the comments too as it will touch you deeply

Will check it out. Thank you for involving me.

That is a pretty deep post, especially for someone so young. Considering that most 20 year olds are only concerned with things and activities that are very superficial...or am I passing judgement unfairly and they are not as brave as yourself in sharing that part of themselves?

We are more than we can even imagine. If we could realise our true potential and abilities, we would accomplish things never before thought possible.

I really like the paragraph “I am a servant”. Since if you only live life to serve yourself, you will miss out on the many experiences that life has to offer. It is only through the helping of others that you really see the world on a higher level.

Hi @dragonslayer i really like your definition of whom you are, indeed there are a thousand reasons to define the true identity of an individual but the true reason is behind a human's identity is his or her heart since some reasons are strange and mysterious, lastly thank you for your post and keep on posting such educative post on Steemit.

Wen i asks myself who i am, i always remember my parents because they are the reason of "who i am"

GOD have the answer.

Wise men remain as servants... Kings are servants too.

Word by word you slayed... Accept that pens are your swords.

Who am I? Just a fresh minnow who has followed an african whale 💙

This is a question each and everyone of us need to as at some point in time, where we are today is not a mistake it is an act of action we took deciding whom to become. am among those who believe that our background does not determine who we become in life, most people came from a good background but they misuse the opportunity. whether poor or rich one need to appreciate there family because without family we are nothing .

Your posts have always unique idea @dragonslayer109. keep it up

Thank you for posting this.

This is an interesting post with your unique opinion or experience of life and I can respect that even if I don't agree with some of the things. So cheers.

Well written..

Sincerity is virtue and I felt it from this post of yours @dragonslayer, I heard of you long before now that I've known you, yes knowing you doesn't mean that I've seen you face to face, this post alone has explained you to anybody who cares to know the real you.

We love you dragonslayer, most of us can not talk about steemit without remembering your personality.

really lovely post

Nice poem and I like it :)

looooool.... i love how you ended it really.... funny i am 20 too... people rarely believe but i so connect to what you said about being ready for what you find.... sometimes we are a whole wealth of secrets and potentials people have no idea about....bottom line... we are who we are... aint nothing changing that

Hello @dragonslayer109

Some people might think or believe that this word "servant" means very little and that it shows weakness or bad life choices. But for me I have never been happier than when I serve others, helping other people out brings me so much joy. I never suffer from depression or sadness because there is always someone worse off and I can help them.

That is what most people fail to understand, when you are a Leader you are actually a servant, because you will have to report to everybody, the least leader in your organization will report to less people than you.

Great ups to @surpassinggoogle for this amazing initiative, the response he is getting shows that he is a great leader.

@ogochukwu

You're a human
You're a steemian
You're known for your service in steemit
You're Dragon 🐉 Slayer!
You're loved!

Who am I? Such a simple but profound question. Though I feel all of us have a purpose here on earth, I guess at some juncture in life we all wonder who we are. We question our souls for hours as we dig hoping to hit some revelation that can help us understand that simple query.

Oddly, other people try to help us decipher who we are. Sometimes its something that we don't even recognize we have mastered... Like you and your way with words. Other times its branding us what we are not.

Ultimately... I think we are greater than we can even imagine. Capable of much more than we give ourselves credit for. Take you for example... You inspire so many writers regardless of their ages yet you don't consider yourself a writer :)

Thank you for sharing. You give me courage to do the same

i think this kind of question is common does not matter who you are nor where are you from everywhere this question is being asked in fact it remind me of the other famous question which is "to be or not be"

nice picture..

What a profound post. Nice to know something about you. Thank you for sharing what you can about yourself.

nice bro upvoted..we must know ourselves on who we are and what are our capability as a person...just be to yourself that's quality of life we should be exercised and habit on the essence of our emotional and mental aspect as the individual in the presence of good will.

im very amaze..to your post @dragonslayer109

kindly see also my post..your kind support and generosity of vote is much appreciated.hoping you will see my post..

thanks and more power to you @@@dragonslayer109

Damm i am still asking myself that question. Awesome post!

This is a great post @dragonslayer109 many people today don't bother looking inward or perhaps they are afraid of what they'll confront. You are a writer and the mere process of self-analysis makes you a valuable addition to this community. Write from the heart and not for effect and you will be noticed.

This question is one (if not) the most worthy of posing oneself. Even the fact that we are able to ask this question should amaze us.

As to who you are, you can think about it in different levels of depth:
-you are first a conscious being and everything else is outside your consciousness
-you are one who is looking for happiness and avoiding suffering
-you are one who is looking for various meanings to find
-you are the goals that you have proposed for yourself
-you are the judgments and axioms that you have said yes to
-you are the thoughts that you cultivate
-you are the sensory inputs that you participate in

This was a very well written blog @dragonslayer109 - from a 67 year old to a 20 year old. Thank you for supporting my post
