I don't know what I want to write about, so I will just write and see what happens

Lately, I've been having a bit of writers block. I watch Netflix, and ideas sail out the window. I have stress over some family thing, and ideas sail out the window. I get some stress at work, and ideas sail out the window.

I'm thinking of that book, The War of Art. I'm remembering why I write. I write for the feeling of intense concentration that I get when I write. I write for the mild euphoria I experience when I publish a new article and make it known to the world. Today, I don't know what I want to write about, so I will just write and see what happens.

One thing i want to you know is that I really don't like the built-in editor for Steemit. So I did some shopping and found this:

Written with StackEdit.

I've been using StackEdit for a few months now and find it to be a very nice way of writing in Markdown with some simple notation to give emphasis with bold and italics. It's easy to put links in, too. It syncs documents with Google Drive and Dropbox, too. I don't have to figure it all out, but I can if I want to. You might want to give it a try. I have and I have not looked back.

I would love to put more time into Steemit. I know that not very many people know me or who I am. Most of my articles just make a few cents and I really don't mind. I don't really mind because I have a day a job and I love to write. I had a zinger a few days ago and that got a lot of upvotes for me. I suppose I could do better. But I have zero control over the outcome. I can only put my 2 cents in and see what happens next.

But regardless of how I'm feeling each morning, I make sure that I write something. I always write my morning page. I just launch LibreOffice on my computer and fill up one page. I also write a gratitude list. That actually comes first. There is gratitude and then I empty mind into a morning page. I find that I write better when I don't consume content.

If I watch Netflix, ideas are harder to come by. YouTube? Fine if I'm just watching music videos. I think of writing ideas like I'm plucking grapes in a vineyard. Article ideas are easy to find. Finding the time to write them? That's hard.

I like to research my articles. I like to engineer my sentences, my paragraphs. I like to tinker with the flow of ideas. My best friends in writing are the 1, 2 and 3 letter words. they are the grease of my language, English. I read a sentence to make sure that it flows just as well speaking it as it does reading it. I want you to have the sense that I'm here, in the room, talking with you.

There. I think I've said enough for now. I just wanted to get on the horse and ride. I didn't worry about where I'm going with this. I'm in the desert on a horse with no name. It felt good to be out of the rain. And so I've reached my destination, the end of the article, the paragraph and the sentence.

I've been a bit lax about authoring lately myself as I've been very busy at work and also a bit uninspired. I was doing one post per day until a couple of weeks ago and kind of dropped off to 3-5 per week.

I gotta get back into the game full swing and at least go interact with people if I'm not authoring every day.

Good luck to you in conquering your writers block / lack of inspiration. I can definitely identify with that lately.

Thank you, sir.

Completely awesome. Some of the best satire I've seen on steemit

That's cute. Your GIF shows up on my Google+ posts. So I'm going to try to post another image to see if that changes it. Please note that my article was not satire.

Thanks so much.

Nope. That didn't work, either. Sigh.

Adding new image to see if that changes what appears in my Google+ posts.
