I always loved the adage
"Some days you're the windshield and some days you're the bug"
I'd like to offer a third possibility.
Some days, like today, I feel more like that crusty white stuff that clings to the window wondering what will get it first --the wiper or the car wash.
That describes most days in the freelance lane of writing, I'm afraid.
Anyway, cheerful art is certainly in order, maybe something that takes one away to another place.
