yeah, politics is everywhere because politics are a part of every day life. that's not all that surprising and it's certainly not a disease.

i don't really understand those people who *don't follow politics since their lives are directly affected by decisions made by politicians that they may or may not have voted for.

I guess it is because they do not want to get depressed by the state of what is really going on in their country

most of them just don't care about politics. it has nothing to do with depression due to what's going on. they just don't care at all. it's pure apathy.

The sad part is that voter turnout, at least in the US, is usually somewhere around 50%. That means that half are not voting! Disengagement and disillusionment is part of the problem too. Politicians know that people aren't voting and work to appeal to those that do, meaning that 50% of our population influences the way our country is run. Crazy
