Visiting the Schleißheim Palace Complex

in #worldmappin9 months ago

Hello everyone, at the beginning I would like to welcome you all to my publications and hope you have a week so far which is full of positive experiences! In my new contribution I took the time to share something about an experience I made in the Free State of Bavaria.

Visiting old castles is always a unique experience which I also did not want to miss during my visit to the Free State of Bavaria and in addition to the best known such as Neuschwanstein Castle or Linderhof Palace, I would like to share an experience with you today and at the same time give a recommendation for a castle complex which is totally underestimated and some may often not have on the screen. I was there twice to visit all three castles which are located on the complex and in any case I can only recommend bringing a lot of time to take a close look at all because all the castles are visitable and have a diverse internal life which takes a lot of time. The complex consists of a large park area on which the royal family of the Wittelsbach has built three magnificent castles and there is an old, a new castle as well as the Lustheim castle which was built as a hunting lodge.

On one day of my visit it was very foggy that day which was the best natural scenery for the creation of photos and creates a very own mood and so many pictures were created during my excursions that I decided to pick out the best ones and share them with you here. For visitors it's important to know in advance that there is a combination ticket which allows admission to all three castles and costs about 10€ which is really fair for all what is offered here and there are also different classes of tickets as well as discounts certain groups of people. The castles are not only interesting from a historical point of view, but also offer a location which is popular for festivities and on my first visit the equipment for a concert was just set up while at my second a wedding had just taken place and I am sure that this offers a unique experience as a location. Also the journey to the complex has turned out to be extremely comfortable and there are enough opportunities for visitors to park and those who should come by public transport also have numerous possibilities.

Especially lovers of the style of baroque will feel very comfortable here and already from the outside, the castles are absolute masterpieces which have their own special characteristics and inside this behaves similarly and everything look extremely magnificent. The foundation of the complex can already be traced back to the 16th century and was founded by Duke of Bavaria William V (1558 - 1626) and it can be said that each castle offers its own special things and in addition to the architecture, visitors can learn a lot about art here and inside there are also numerous texts with historical backgrounds and very unique is also the large collection of porcelain. Visitors can also learn many things about the Wittelsbach family, which was essential for the development of Bavaria and its origin already goes back to the 11th century.

Some rooms in the castles are very specially designed and there are some historical banquet halls which have been provided with magnificent ceiling paintings and there are certainly hundreds of different paintings by huge painters. I enjoyed my visits here very much, which is why I do not want to miss to share this experience with you and as already mentioned, it's one of the castles in the Free State of Bavaria which are far less visited than in comparison with Neuschwanstein Castles or Linderhof, which has the great advantage that visitors can take a closer look at everything much more closely without being under time pressure and for visitors who want to take a break in the meantime, there is also the possibility to get a coffee or eat something. If you should be in the area, I can only motivate you to put the castle on the list and if you want to make the most of it, I can recommend you to make a two-day trip out of it, but it's also possible to visit everything on one day and this of course always varies on the person as well as how much the person is interested in the culture.

It was a very foggy day but the photo of the outside of the Castle is still beautiful, it looks like a dreamy effect. Great photography. this is a beautiful place to visit, many beautiful things.

The fog definitely improved the whole experience that day. Happy that you like my post dear @momins

Visiting everything for €10 seems economical, my friend, due to the variety of architecture and culture in general that we can observe, plus all that history related to the Bavarian royal family makes that visit even more special.

It's really fair in every respect :) Happy that you are also interested in the house of Wittelsbach, there are so many traces as in Greece about which I wrote recently. Otto I from the same house ruled in Athens for a while and changed some things there.

This is actually really looking so beautiful I must confess

Thanks for the feedback dear @consistency

10€ is a fair price for 3 castles... More than a castle, looks like a villa! We got plenty of those here

A great visit tough

It was really fair! If someone also would like to support it additionally, can of course send a donation to the administration which will be used to restore the items. Glad that you have so many beautiful buildings in your area :)

You need to travel to Italy sometimes 😅

I have already been there, have visited one or the other old castle in South Tyrol. I was also in Venice as well as Naples:) There is so much more to see, I hope I will travel to Italy again. Any insider tips?

Verona is quite good with the lake aswell and Gardaland, Firenze for sure and then Sicily has something interesting too

I have already been to Lake Garda, liked it very much. Thanks for the tips, it must be beautiful corners :)

Happy that you share it with your twitter community :)

no worries
it is a pleasure to spread voice about #hive

Only 10€ for visiting 3 castles!! It's indeed pretty cheap I think.

Looks like it's a pretty awesome tourist spot for the people around. We are lucky to enjoy the castle through your photographs and texts. Thanks for sharing your review :)

First of all, thanks for your visit and it motivates me very much that you appreciate my contribution! I know that it is managed by an administration and accepts donations which are used for restorations, so if someone want to support the castles of Bavaria, can also donate money there. The prices are really fair to visit the complex :)

When we go to such places, we see these special paintings and these are historical places and by going here, our knowledge about this place increases a lot.

I can only agree with that and think it's great that you're also interested in culture dear @djbravo

Thanks for sharing with your twitter audience

Welcome

I love castles, greetings.

Then this complex is definitely worth a visit for you :)

I love visiting castles too but finding one around me is very rare

I can understand that! Hopefully it's worth taking a longer trip to visit one @abojode
