THE WORST CATASTROPHES OF HISTORY (PART 1)

Throughout history have occurred events with an impact so great that they manage to paralyze the world, mostly by the destructive that have come to be and by the sequels that have played in the history of mankind.

World War II

Being so far the conflict large and bloody history, it happened between 1939 and 1945, leaving more than 60 million people (mostly civilians) dead. Armed forces of more than 70 countries fought for land, air and sea, leaving behind what would be happening more destructive (disappeared towns, railways, roads, bridges, and industrial plants, and were affected the most fertile fields).

The black plague

It was a pandemic of plague that ravaged Europe during the 14th century and was transmitted by a few fleas carried by rats. It is believed that the epidemic emerged in central Asia, from where it happened to Italian cities like Genoa, with great maritime activity, and from there to Europe. The black death ended with almost half of the European population and some 100 million people worldwide.

Atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki

Atomic attack in 1945 in Japan, was ordered by Harry Truman, then President of the United States of America. This serious attack which put an end to the second world war leaving more than 220,000 victims among whom only 78% were civilians. To date these bombardments constitute the only nuclear attacks of history.

Tsunami in Indonesia

On December 26 was an underwater earthquake that triggered a series of devastating tsunamis along the coasts of most of the countries bordering the Indian Ocean, leaving leaving 186,000 more deaths and approximately 42,000 missing people.
