In this article, we'll look at how to open your device by not forgetting the security code (number or password) for AndroidTM devices (smartphones and tablets). In another article, we'll look at these steps for other devices like iPhone: - Complete the following steps to reset your device settings . Open a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, and go to: https://webmail.catholichealth.net Sign in to your account. In the upper left corner, click the arrow to the right of the display options for the drop-down list, and then select View all options. The following screen provides features that enable you to take action on your account, including the status of your mobile device, display by clicking on Phone, located in the options on the right side of the window. The tab displays all the phones for which email has been used during the present time. Press Restore password if this option is available. You can not find this option for the following plan. Press View to restore the password if this option is available. The password recovery will be displayed. Reminder: The ability to recover your password may not be available for some devices. If your device does not allow you to apply the above, you can use the following method to reset your device: - Follow the steps below to reset your device. Disable the power down / off (or you can do the screen lock) or by pressing the power button. Press and down the volume up buttons and press the on button. Continue pressing all three buttons until the device shows the icon or logo of your phone or company. When an icon appears on the screen after the logo, press the key of the home page (key 2 of a set of 4 keys). Move through the menu, using the Volume Down and Volume buttons until you find the Data / Factory-Reset from the options tab. Press the power key to reset the factory settings for the phone. When you reset the device, all data from your device will be removed and returned to the factory settings; this includes all information, as well as all applications and personal information (including items such as personal photos, music, contacts, notes, and messages).

Informative, But is there any ways we can unlock it without losing our data ?

Hmm well if it's a PIN you could eventually crack it via brute force if you do not have it set to wipe the device after X number of failed attempts. You could use a rubber ducky to automate it e.g. https://www.hak5.org/episodes/hak5-1217

it happened to me before. i had to factory reset my phone.

no problem
