I'm reading today about slumps. It would seem that we have a natural tendency to slump both our standards and our effort in the middle of any activity. perhaps due to the fact that we feel we are being observed less closely in the middle. We focus on a strong start and a strong finish, which is not a bad strategy....unless the middle crushes you and you abandon whatever you're working on.

Yesterday was about using temporal landmarks as re-starts. A way to find more regular points to reinvigorate you about what ever you're working towards.

So making a chocolate-vanilla swirl cone of these ideas it would seem obvious to use regular restart points as a way to spike your vigilance and keep you on a track more likely to reach your finish with the ability to close up strong.

In his Time Hacker Handbook section of his book Daniel Pink gives 80+ points during the year which are a social or personal landmark that you can use to prompt a powerful restart.
