Words and Sayings

I’ve discovered there’s a lot of truth in many of the everyday sayings used in life. Phrases such as; “the early bird catches the worm” and “cleanliness is next to Godliness”.
An acquaintance once commented that the "Truth does not lie", another great saying.

In a previous role I can remember an occasion where a colleague during a discussion said to me that the “The best way to overcome a group of people is to split them up”, in militaristic terms “to Divide and Conquer”. With it being a unique time in my life (while also finding the lady attractive I was a little caught off guard) I was not too sure how I should take it. Although, at the time I can remember it reinforced my belief of there being great power in the words we say. Hence, the conversation now being a lasting memory.

It’s amazing how words can be put on a piece of paper and transported through time, or spoken one hundred years ago, revisited through an audio recording and have the same effect as when they were initially mouthed. This extends to whether the words can be deemed to be either ‘positive’ or ‘negative’, with the passing of time also playing a factor in the way to words are viewed. This is why the conversation with my colleague sticks out.

I’m still to this day surprised at how certain divides can arise from the strongest of bonds. Especially when dealing with family, friendships and working relationships. Particularly when tainted due to misperceived notions. Many times coming from an outside influence, due to that entity’s need for division or more negative connotation of destruction. But in life, as can be expected these things happen and it tends to be that many times in these situations personal or collective endurance and worthwhile sayings and phrases similar to those already mentioned, enough strength can be discovered to help you come through. Often, the outcome(s) will shine more light on the whole situation, concerning yourself and those around you.

Leading me nicely into what a beautiful day (weather wise) today was. Where I went out on one my excursions hearing the tune and lyrics to the song of Mr Marley (Snr) in my mind that the “Sun is shining”. It really was a wonderful day, the heat at a high temperature and all round good visuals.

Finally, the DIY I‘ve been undertaking in the house with my family has kind of got to a point, where without the use of some experienced tradesman we really cannot go any further. I’ve forgotten the name of the tools we need now, some kind of filler instrument. We’re thinking of checking a local publication and finding some sort of handyman, though wisdom dictates it’s better to find somebody through recommendation.
