We wanted a console table for the entryway to our home. After looking at a numerous console table designs, I came up with a hybrid design that included elements from different console tables that we liked. The end result was a console table that really brings together the entry way of our home, I love how it turned out and I think it gives Pottery Barn a run for their money. What do you think?
The top is made from clear vertical grain 2x6 Douglass Fir. The rest of the table structure is made from #1 and better kiln dried Douglass Fir. All of the lumber was planed and jointed before assembly. I used pocket holes and Titebond wood glue for the joinery. The table top was stained with Old Masters Wiping Stain and the entire table was coated with General Finishes High Performance Water Based Top Coat Satin.
I am very pleased with how the table turned out and love the look it adds to the entry into our house. What do you think?
