wow. this explains alot for me about the witness stuff. A few question please

  • how necessary is it to vote for these witnesses
  • does it in anyway affect one account if you have not voted for any witness before now?

    well, voting for witnesses is like voting for the right politician to lead the country, you have to choose the very best!

    They partake in many critical decision making processes that concern the whole steemit ecosystem.
    So vote wisely.

    1. No it doesnt affect your account, witness voting has no effect on your account directly, but a vote not directed to a witness is a vote wasted.
