Hi Steemit!
Been a busy week, lots of things going on. I don't have a lot to say, but I wanted to reach out to say hi and let you guys know what I am up to.
I believe I solved the problem that caused me to miss my first block. Things have been humming along quite well.
I set up a new server and configuring it for a backup witness node. I will set it up with a fail-over kill-switch. I was hoping to have it ready for my witness update, but I didn't put a witness update out last week. The plan is to have it up in the next few days.
I mentioned in my last update I started to use Conductor, an awesome swiss army knife tool by @furion that offers a lot of cool utilities for Witnesses. I switched from SteemFeedJS to using Conductor's built-in feed support. I also set up a remote kill-switch, also using Conductor. Thanks, @furion!
I am working on some better pro-active alerts for my witness that will notify me prior to missing a block. I am also working on adding some witness specific metrics in my dashboard as well as push notification to my iPhone.
On a side note, my neighbor let us pick some apples from their apple tree. My wife turned it into the best apple crisp I've had. Plans are already laid out to raid the tree for more apples.

Didn’t think of taking pictures when I was eating it. When we raid the tree and make another I’ll get a pic. Or just eat it.

Nice very cool. Fun to see what's involved in being a witness. I haven't voted for too many witnessed only because I only run into a few of them as I go along. But cool. Thanks for what you do.
