Your questions are great. I am on Steem for over 2 years, but not everyone knows, that I recently decided to run @noisy.witness together with other steemians (@perduta, @jblew).
In 2 months we didn't missed a single block. Why?
We have 4 servers in 3 different locations, on 3 different continents in 3 different providers. So in case of failure of one server, we have 2 or 3 backup servers.
Are you voting to the witnesses who do not care the security enough?
Security is our number one concern. That's why I didn't want to run a witness node alone in case if I missed something. We can check each other. I also put a lot of effort to ensure, that also normal users will understand how to be secure:
- What is the difference between a password and a private key(s) on Steemit? How to make your account more secure, by using them correctly.
- Public and Private Keys - how they are used by Steem, making all of these possible?
- How to generate all Steem user's keys from master password, without a Steemit website, being OFFLINE
- How to set an own password, which is not generated by Steemit
- How to revoke all 3rd-party authorities with or without SteemConnect
and whenever I can, I am trying to help people:
I am also working on projects, which are useful for community, like: https://SteemProjects.com/ and projects Wise (more info about it soon) :)
@noise, thanks for your response! all the best for you! I will consider voting you after learning about you for an while.
