Winter Road Driving: Studded Tires Mounted on a VW T5, Snow in Scandinavia [VW-Bus Minivan]

in #winterdriving7 years ago (edited)

VW Eurovan models have become popular in the U. S. as well as all other markets. Successors of the legendary Hippie Bus or original VW-Bus models, the later generation T3 and T4 "buses" and "vanagons" had an astute following in the U. S. as well as their native European market and beyond. That the T5 has not been available in the U. S. has been a major annoyance for US-based VW enthusiasts, and rightly so. From 2002, the car has been marketed to Europe and South America -- excluding the U. S. -- which must its reasons in some arcane EPA ruling or similar government red tape. (U. S. authorities targeting and incarcerating VW and their directors seems to only confirm this suspicion.)

For everyone who likes both the past and present "Bus" and "Transporter" models, here's a collection of shots featuring how they handle in heavy snow and winter road conditions. Enjoy.

Great driving and fun-in-the-snow clip. It seems you got your thumbnail mixed-up though?

true -- still need to figure out how to edit a thumbnail or 'snap' on here, as I am not quite sure what happens when I start deleting or otherwise messing around with the Snap Hash under advanced editing...
